7. Sandstone Boulders in Garden of the Gods, 20 March, 2014

Sidelight tends to emphasize shapes and textures in an image. This almost monochromatic photograph brings out the roughness and crevices of some of the rock formations in the Garden. On many of the higher edifices the larger cave-like openings are home to various nesting birds. Under the openings at low levels one must beware of rattlesnakes.
