"More scars upon the land"

The line was actually in protest to a plan to have the Olympics in Colorado (which did not happen). But many felt it had to do with other things like this picture shows.
The price of progress includes the need for bedding for roads and highways. Fortunately, this "scar" is slowly being reclaimed.
Note the background burned trees on the foothills which occurred during the Waldo Canyon Fire in 2012.
