The music and songs of John Denver have been a big part of my inspiration for making landscape photographs. Through the lyrics of his songs one can see his vision of the beauty of nature, both in Colorado and other places in the world. He also sings of joy, loneliness, despair, sorrow and, occasionally, death.
I have tried to match some of my pictures to the imagery that he has written in his music.
Can you match these verses to the songs in which they appear? There are 22 verses from 7 songs. Good Luck!
"Coming home to a place he'd never been before""It's cold here in the city...""Oh, my friends are the snow covered hills""Springtime is rollin' round slowly""I'll cling to the warmth of your tiny hand""The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake""And driving down the road I get the feeling that I should have been home yesterday, yesterday""Leaves will bow down when you walk by""Like a bird in the air""And morning bells will chime""There's a storm across the valley, clouds are rolling in.""He saw silver clouds below, he saw everything as far as you can see.""When I think that I'm moving, suddenly things stand still""If I had a day that I could give you I'd give to you a day just like today""He walks in quiet solitude the forests and the streams""Travelled by many, remembered by few""And the wind will whisper your name to me""More scars upon the land""I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky""And I'm looking for space..."
