Landscape photographs that are taken near water often will have key elements reflected from that water's surface. That can be either intentional or unintentional. The calmer the water's surface, the clearer and more impressive is the reflection. Finding water without ripples, waves, whitecaps, flows or other movement is often a challenge. Early morning or later evening is sometimes your best chance since the heat of the sun frequently causes air movement and even a little of that affects the water. Luck also plays a role. But even unstill water can create pleasing effects, particularly in blurring of colors. Autumn is a prime time for such reflections.

In street photography reflections off glass, metal and other shiny surfaces can produce interesting and sometimes abstract contributions to a composition.
Movement is seldom a factor but the position of the sun or other lighting must be taken into account.

A few of these photos have appeared in some of my other galleries on this website. However, in this gallery, I am repeating them to emphasize the use of reflections.
