Maroon Lake

Maroon Lake

One of the most photographed areas in Colorado is the Maroon Bells and Maroon Lake near Aspen. It is a breathtaking place at any time of the year but Autumn is best. In September, 2015 I was able to capture this image of the Bells and their reflections in the lake at 9:29 A.M. Had I been able to arrive a couple of hours earlier I am sure the lake waters would have been perfectly calm. But hey, at my age getting up early enough to do that is a difficult task! Besides, the reflected, blurred autumn colors are a strong element in the scene.
