Mostly I use clouds as a complementary object in landscapes as they often add interest to an otherwise totally blue sky. But occasionally certain cloud formations are so dramatic that they become my primary focal point. This was the case with this scene of some of the Collegiate Peaks near Buena Vista, Colorado which seemed to be overshadowed and engulfed by thick layers of clouds. The pine trees on each side helped "frame" the image. I scanned the original Ektachrome slide and digitalized it before processing it in Lightroom and Photoshop. As Judy Collins (and others) sang 'I've looked at clouds from both sides now...".
