19. Yucca at Golden Hour, 23 October 2014

The "Golden Hours" are the times just before sunset and just after sunrise when the light has a warm, golden hue and are often the preferred times for landscape photography. This is an image of a yucca plant in Garden of the Gods taken prior to sunset. Long shadows are also present during these times and shooting into the sun can be tricky. I used the pinon tree on the left to partially block the sun and create a small sunstar effect. The clouds added some drama to the scene.
