3. North Cheyenne Canyon and North Cheyenne Creek, 2 February 2014

Framed by pine trees and after a an overnight snowfall I captured this image of the creek on Groundhog Day. I was sure that winter would last at least six more weeks! Some relatively simple looking scenic pictures require a little effort. There was steep incline down to this creek and the snow was about a foot deep. Setting up my tripod on this surface was tricky and I barely escaped sliding into the frigid water. This kind of preparation to take pictures seemed a lot easier when I was younger.
